Project of the Month - Sizzix Scallop Note Card Purse

September, 08

I have had this idea in my head ever since I saw the Scallop Note Card die by Sizzix. It holds a Stampin' Up! Chapstick and has room for 2 photos. How cool is that?

You are going to cut using the Big Shot, 2 Scallop Note Cards and the large Scallop Circle in Scallop #2 Die of both cardstock (More Mustard) and designer paper (Haiku).

You also need:
1 piece of cardstock cut to 3 1/8 x 3 1/2. Score at 1 inch from each end. (More Mustard)
 2 pieces cardstock cut 2 3/4 x 2 3/4 (Chocolate Chip CS)
 2 pieces of designer paper cut 2 1/2 x 2 1/2 (More Mustard)
2 pieces of ribbon 10 inches each
 1 piece 5 inches long
 2 Designer Brads
 piece of silver elastic cord

Pieces ready to assemble. The 1/2 inch circles are for where the ribbon goes to tie down the chap stick. Measure up to the middle on the designer paper and attach circles on each side. Punch holes thru circles (I used the Crop-a-Dile Big Bite ) and string ribbon thru. Use the slit punch to cut into each end where the chap stick goes, (see side view picture below) Attach designer paper to cardstock.

Put together the 2 Sizzix Envelopes, do not fold down top envelope flap.

In this picture you can see the sticky tape on the envelope flap. The 1 inch side of the piece holding the chap stick will go here. After you attach your sides you can decorate the front.

Project: Sizzix Purse
Paper: Haiku, More Mustard, Chocolate Chip
Ink: Pumpkin Pie and Always Artichoke
Stamp Sets: Fall Flair
Accessories: Designer Brads, Sizzix Scallop Note Card Die, Silver Cord, Chocolate Chip Ribbon, Slit Punch

I did this one as a baby shower treat holder. It has the same places for pictures as the one above. I hope you enjoy making this little purse. I can see all kinds of uses for it.

This one was made slightly different. It only uses the 2 Scallop Note Cards and the large Scallop Circle in Scallop #2 Die cut of designer paper and the bottom piece cut out of cardstock, cut to 3 1/8 x 3 1/2. Score at 1 inch from each end. This one holds a bag of candy using our small cello bag.

The candy bag is attached with Dimensionals.

The baby stamp used here is on the dormant list so it can still be ordered. It is called Lovely Labels.

If you were going to do this one as a purse I would do it with the method above because it has more reinforcement with all of the cardstock used as the base.

The buttons are made with the Big Shot also.
