Thanksgiving Turkey

Oct. 29, 07

Today's project was to get some treat baskets and place cards made for our Thanksgiving dinner. I know Halloween hasn't even come yet but I want to give you plenty of  time should you decide you'd like to make these little baskets.

I used a 3 oz. paper dixie cup for the treat basket.  Carefully take one apart to make your pattern. The turkey is made using SU's Scallop Punch and the Spring Flower Bouquet for the beak and feet. You are going to cut out 4 scallops and cut them to have 7, 8, 9 and 10 scallops. The body has 3 scallops on the bottom and 1 at the top. I sponged ink on each layer to bring out a little more color. I used glue stick to put it together. Use your black marker to give him eyes. and you are done. I used my Crop-O-Dile to add a couple of rivets to the sides for the ribbon to go thru. The pumpkins on the place card holder is made with the oval punch and the the star punch for the top. Again I sponged some color on top of my pieces.

Chef Recipe Card

Oct. 27, 07

Look at our cute chef using our Voila stamp set. I just love him and he comes with accessories and an additional stamp set you can get with extra items for the tray. You can get a lot of use out of this stamp set for recipe cards and cards.

I used DP and stamped the chef on Whisper White Cs. The chef is colored with our watercolor crayons and an aqua painter. The Bon Appetit is stamped directly on the DP. I layered the recipe and used our corner punch to add the corners. I printed the recipe on White CS and cut it to fit the page.

Thankful Banner

Oct. 27, 07

I've done a couple of these banners now and each one is different. I added some flowers to this one in pretty fall colors.

I used our On Board Garland Greetings Chipboard Kit and Apple Cider DP. The On Board Garland Greetings Chipboard Kit is $15.95 and the Apple Cider DP is $9.95 and is only available until the end of November. In addition to the Thankful Banner you can also do the words Noel and Joy. There are lots of accent pieces also. You can do the banner in a evening. If you would like to order the kit please contact me and I'll be happy to help.

A Trio of Muffins

Oct. 25, 07

I promised a friend to do some food containers this week and here is one that is pretty simple. You could stamp on the bags if you desire but I just did the cards. The recipe is on one side and the instructions on the back for making it. If you want to convert your favorite recipes look for recipes that have less than 2 1/2 cups total of mix to fit in the bags. I mixed all of the dry ingredients together instead of trying to layer them. The bag in the back has a topping with it and I used our small cello bag for it, it is the perfect size. These are decorator bags for decorating cakes.

These are the recipes I used.

Apple Cinnamon Muffins
 Ginger Spice Muffins
 Pecan Pie Muffins

Paper: White CS, Purely Pomegranate
Ink: Purely Pomegranate

Guava Thanksgiving with a Side of Pomegranate

Oct. 24, 07

I got another new stamp set and decided this morning to use it to make this card. The stamp set is SU's Autumn Fest. I inked up my Sanded background stamp with Groovy Guava and stamped it on Vanilla CS. I then sponged  Groovy Guava, Pomegranate, Really Rust and Close to Cocoa lightly over the top. Then I used my embossing buddy to wipe off the card. I then stamped the leaf images on the card front with Versa Mark and embossed with clear. I decided at this point it needed some acorns so I stamped them on with Close to Cocoa and Versa Mark so they could get embossed. I then used my brayer and my Groovy Guava and Pomegranate again to go over the top. I did four areas kind of like squares but not uniform. Wipe off excess ink. I then added ribbons, some cut out embossed acorns and a Happy Thanksgiving saying. Here is the card.

Time to Start Thinking About Christmas Cards- Snowflake Sunday

Oct. 21, 07

I've done 3 cards today to show you. The first card is a simple card to do. I stamped snowflakes using Snowburst, Soft Sky ink and embossed the top white panel. I decorated the snowflakes with rhinestones. I stamped Joy on a tag and cut it out with a 1 1/4 Circle Punch and layered it with the SU Scallop Punch cut out of Soft Sky. I also ties a white ribbon on before gluing the layers.

My second card for you today is a Christmas Card using non-traditional colors. I used one of our In Colors, Purely Pomegranate to make the card out of and the crimped band. I took a piece of Pink Passion and ran it thru the Cuttlebug with Snowflakes on it. I stamped the snowman and joy images from Perfect Presentation on Shimmery White with Purely Pomegranate ink.

My third card is also a snowflake card. I used Always Artichoke CS, Fall Flowers DP and Artichoke SU Ribbon. I used SU Season of Joy stamp set for the images.

Look What I Found!

Oct. 21, 07

We had our annual fall garage sale this weekend in our sub. Thursday night I found a old box that had been packed for quite some time, at least several moves ago. I was really thrilled when I found my first find but the second one was really cool. I'd forgotten I had either of these. I found vintage rick rack and a really old tin stamp pad from the American Stamp Company.

The pink rick rack is even wide with a silver thread in it. I just love finding stuff like this! The stamp pad says it is always ready to use and is self inking. How fun is this?

Here's a better picture of just the stamp pad.

Can you tell I am in a fall mood today? This is an easy recipe card with little or no stamping depending on your mood. I used True Friends to stamp the background. I did stamp the background where the recipe is on the card but the rest of the card is our delicious Apple Cider DP. I used the crimper to make the band and tied a piece of hemp around the band. How easy is that?

Here are my last Halloween projects for you. It is hard to stop for me because I love Halloween. How cute would these Tootsie Roll Pops be for your school party? They are in a plastic glass I found at Dollar Tree. You get 8 cups for a dollar. I then trimmed a little florists foam so it fit inside the cup for the suckers to go into.

The stamp set I used was Batty For You. You get 8 different Halloween stamps with this set and I find myself reaching for it quite often. I really like the fact that some of the images are suited for googlie eyes which adds another dimension. I used SU Scallop punch and our 2 circle punches. I used Snail to stick the discs to the suckers.

This is a CD I found at Staples, I used the stamp set Autumn Apparitions to stamp the case and the tag is made from Batty For You. There are a couple of images in the Autumn Apparitions set you could also make the tags from. What a great way to serve a cookie!

Halloween Fry Box

Oct. 1, 07

One more Halloween project for you. I promise I'll stop (or try to) after this one for awhile and move onto other things. I've actually got some Christmas (lots of it) and Thanksgiving projects and cards that I am anxious to start.

Actually I just remembered another school treat so I am going to do that and then try to stop. Can you tell the kids on my street are going to get really good treat bags this year from me?

This is a french fry box dressed up for Halloween. Again, another perfect treat for school or the office! You will find the template here that I used. TEMPLATE Since I started stamping I look at everything in a different way, just wondering what I can alter it into! If you drink the Starbuck's drinks you can get at the grocery store, save those bottles, wait till you see what you can turn those into.

I used the stamp set Autumn Apparitions for this project. To decorate the front I stamped the L shaped stamp on the white CS. I stamped the pumpkin and cat on whisper white. I cut them out leaving a little of the white CS showing. I applied the pumpkin to the box and used a dimensional to raise the cat up a bit. The bag holding the candy corn is our small 3 x 5 Cellophane bags and there are 50 in a package for $3.95. I stamped the word BOO on White SC and placed it inside of the bag after I tied it.

Candy Treat Holder

Oct. 1, 07

This holder is made with a half sheet of Pumpkin Pie Cardstock. The image was stamped with Black StazOn from Haunting Halloween. You can't see it in this picture but the image is layered and the corners rounded. The treats inside the holder are in our small cellophane bags I talked about above. The Pumpkin Pie ribbon is holding the holder together. There are 3 candy bars in the bags.
