Project of the Month - Scallop Easter Basket

April, 09

This Easter basket uses Stampin' Up's! Scalloped Envelope Die and the Big Shot. No stamping is involved. This would also be cute made up with flowers inside as a gift for Mother's Day.

You are going to start by cutting 6 pieces of cardstock using the Scallop Envelope Die. I used Pink Pirouette card stock.

Crease the pieces so that the good side of the scallop edge is out. Cut off one side of the envelope flap.

Place a piece of sticky tape on the remaining flap on the opposite side that is showing. (front side) Tape the pieces together.

This is what your basket should look like when the sides are all taped together. Cut 2 pieces of designer paper 2  x 10 inches and attach with tape to front of basket. I also did the inside of the basket but it is not necessary. The grass will cover the inside flaps, it is totally up to you whether you do it or not.

Square the bottom up the best you can. I taped 2 small spots on opposite sides to get my shape. Then place your basket on another piece of cardstock. Trace around the bottom of the basket. Trim with the trimmer. Cut a second piece. Place one inside the basket and the other on the bottom.

Cut a piece of cardstock 1 1/2 x 11 1/2. Cut a piece of designer paper 2 x 11 1/2. Using the Eyelet Punch do both long edges of the designer paper. Attach with tape the 2 pieces together. Cut 2 pieces of 12 inch ribbon. Use tape to attach to basket handle almost all of the way to the center. Tie a bow. Attach the handle to the basket with tape. Punch a hole thru the basket to the handle to attach a brad thru. Do this on both sides. I used 2 Filigree brads on the outside of the basket to help connect the handle.

Fill with Easter grass and candy. Happy Easter!
